Participants create and execute stored procedures, implement business rules through triggers and maintain referential integrity through declarative referential integrity. Participants apply ORACLE object extensions through PL/SQL. Participants apply this knowledge through laboratory exercises. The duration of the course is five days (40 hours).

Student Learning Objectives/Outcomes

Upon completion of this course the student will:
  • an understanding of the client/server model.
  • an understanding of relational data base terms.
  • in-depth knowledge PL/SQL including packages.
  • in-depth knowledge in the manipulation data through SQL.
  • an understanding of how to create and use stored procedures and functions.
  • a thorough understanding of the DECODE function.
  • an understanding of the forms of referential integrity and the ability to implement referential integrity through declarative means as well as through triggers.
